London Team Tournament - 14 November 2015
« le: 27 août 2015 à 08:58:52 »
I know this is close to the proposed London/Paris dual event which takes place in January and March 2016, but I thought I'd let you know about our team event in case a bunch of Frenchies wanted to come over.  Here are the details, but in short it is 3-man teams using WTC rules:

The Cross Gaming Club in association with Dark Sphere presents

THE LONDON TEAM TOURNAMENT
Saturday 14th November

Prepare yourselves for the third annual Warmachine and Hordes London Team Tournament, returning to the calendar like an out of control steam train barreling down the track towards you.

Up to 16 teams of three players will take part in a standard Steamroller style tournament lasting up to four rounds. The games will be played using the Deathclock timing variant, as per the Steamroller pack.

Each player must bring two 50 point lists, and the event is Divide and Conquer (1), meaning that each list must be used at least once throughout the day. Note that for the purposes of Divide and Conquer, the event is assumed to be four rounds long.

Warcasters and Warlocks may not be repeated across a team, and players lists are character restricted.
However, the team is neither faction nor character restricted, so you may (for example) include two Cygnar players with Gorman di Wulfe in one each of their lists, but only one player may use Major (epic) Victoria Haley.
Each team has a nominated captain who is responsible for filling out paperwork and ensuring data is entered correctly. It is recommended that the captain buy the team's ticket.

Team captains must submit all 6 lists for their team two weeks ahead of the tournament to ensure they are correct, and to allow us to publish them in advance to encourage inter-team rivalry and gentle ribbing. And outright rudeness.

Lists must be submitted to tournaments@crossgamingclub.com before midnight on Friday 30th September.
Please submit all lists using the Steamroller PDFs found here: http://tinyurl.com/SRsheets
...as it will make our lives much easier when checking them, and yours much easier when filling them out.
Please ensure that team names are included in the player name section alongside the player's actual name.

A player matching system is used for this event, essentially forming a mini-game before the games begin, inspired by the WTC Matching system.

The team captains roll-off, with the winner deciding to be either the first team or second team.
Once this has been decided, the first team nominates one player, who shows their lists to the second team.
The second team then puts up two players, who show their lists to the first team.
The first team decides which of these players they would like their nominated player to play, which sets the first matchup.
The second team now choses the match ups from the remaining four players.
Because this process favours the second team, the first team then picks which of the nominated tables each match is played on.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask! The easiest way to get hold of the event organisers (Tom Hutchings and Norbert Brunhuber) is via the Cross Gaming Club forums (http://www.crossgamingclub.com/forum) or the Cross Gaming Club Facebook page (facebook.com/crossgc), where we'll endeavour to answer your questions as quickly as we can.

A ticket to this event is for a three player team, and players do not need to purchase their tickets individually.
