Dr Norbert (En) and  JuJu (FR) are pleased to announce a round-trip tournament between Paris and London coming in early 2016.

The purpose of this event is to meet the other player community and begin to exchange with each other.  We are sure there will have a lot of things to talk around our beloved game! Not to mention build on some friendly rivalry between our two cities.  :)

The first tournament will take place in London (at the gaming shop named Dark Sphere [link]) in January 2016 and the other will take place in Paris (at the Waaagh Taverne shop [link]) in March 2016.

Tournament details :
50 points, 2 lists required (ie each list must be played at least once), Deathclock
Players from opposite countries will be preferentially paired with one another.
Only 4 rounds will be played.  If we have more than 16 players, we will break the group into two flights. Each venue can accept up to 32 players each.
Cost: 10 pounds/euros

At the end of the tournament, we will determine the winner between France and England through an average winning record (ie, we will divide each country's wins by the number of players from that country).  Prizes will be awarded for the individual top 3 as well.

We hope that you consider joining us for this grand experiment!  Note that while these events take place in London and Paris, they are open to players from any region of the two countries.  We will have official information and links to purchase tickets at each location up later this year, so consider this an early announcement.  We'd love to hear your thoughts in the meantime.  Please comment below and mention which tournament(s) you may attend (London, Paris or both).  Thank you.

Not everyone has facebook either. Leave choice to people. Or use neutral channels like a website.

Otherwise possibly interested, but it'll probably cost to much for only 4 games.

It's supposed to be Paris vs. London, not ALL OF FRANCE IS GOING CRAZY vs. London ;)

But if there's room for a Cryxian from Dijon, I might show up :)
Ah oui mais s'il faut lire les règles maintenant, où va le monde ?

Room for everyone naturally!  But yeah, in its design, it's meant to promote a cross-city rivalry since we have such an easy connection between the two.

This is one of our question. Make it simple with 4 games in a day (which means no Hotel room to pay I think if you want) or make something bigger with the classic 5 games...
The problem is : We don't know how many people wants to go to Paris / London / both ...

For people not from Paris, I think a full-course event with 6-7 games (no need to respect SR) would be more interesting to meet foreign players.
I see your point however for Paris players and to keep organisation and cost to a minimum.

Just a random thought as Parisian player: In the season 2015-2016 there will be a lot of important "regular" tournaments in Paris and in London (I guess, correct me if I'm wrong).

Usually players allow themselves to do only some international events per year, due to budget/logistic reasons. For this reason maybe the non-Parisian players should consider a more "standard" tournament in London/Paris for their "expensive" tournament slot.

I am not saying this because I want to discourage non-Parisian player to come and "keep all the fun for us" :P, I'm just saying that if french players are interested in doing a good tournament in the UK the list is huge (and maybe Norbert can give us more specifics pointers to a list of interesting tournaments)...

just my 2 €cents...

So it looks like the Paris and London wargaming calendars have become so full (with many international events as well) that this series may have become unneeded!  Consequently we don't have a Paris event set up at the moment.  However, we do have a London Masters event set up in January if you want to come along anyway.  Here are the details:

SmogCon Shakedown Masters
Saturday January 9th, 2016
Registration 8 AM
Dice fly 9 AM
Award ceremony around 7:30 PM
Location:  Dark Sphere - 186 Hercules Rd, London SE1 7LD
Cost:  £10
Tickets: http://www.darksphere.co.uk/p.php?p=66476

This will be run using the Masters rule set at 50 points. Link to the rules is http://privateerpress.com/organized-play/masters

32 spots are available but if we get more than 16 players, we will break the group into 2 flights to ensure that not more than 4 rounds are run.

We look forward to seeing you there.
