Hi everybody,
As Zoro asked me, i post to tell you about the challenge that have been already accepted by some of the fiercest French players.
Personnaly i’m more than inclined to think that foreigners have enough balls to endure this challenge and even if in France we try really hard, we don’t have the monopoly on stupid ideas.
This idea went to me as the SR12 ste of rules came up introducing the character restriction, it divided the french communauty and some players were really reluctant about these restrictions, particuliarly the mercenary players who are always on the edge of occasions to complain. (their lobby won since they have special character restriction this year)
Zoro decided that characters restriction would be mandatory for each day, i just wanted to show that it would be possible to follow this restriction for both days which means character restriction on the 6 lists available during the trounament.
So here are the rules :
6 lists so 6 different casters (true men don’t kill coyotes and can choose to play only one version of a caster so they can choose to play either the prime version or the epic one) and character restrictions applied on each of the 6 lists.
Some of us did it last year and it was really funny but there are many other reasons to accept this challenge.
- Prove to the others that you’re able to bring a mass of painted minitures, play all oy your factions available styles,
- Bring back door casters, not so well known in a tourney,
- Have fun, class and see the respect in your opponent’s eyes.
- Perfect excuse if you lose ^^
I know it will have consequences, bad match ups and lots of painting to do that’s why I’ll think of giving a little something to the player who’ll bring the highest number of different miniatures split among the 6 lists

Yeah, I've read about that when you discussed it in french.
I do like the idea. I already have lots of models to paint for this year. At this moment in my 3 50 points lists I think there are 68 different models. (31 yet unpainted ¬¬'), I'm not sure about the 35p list yet, but I will try to pick 3 different casters (I'm pretty sure about 2, unsure about the third...), and they will probably at least 8 more models... I've no need to repeat any character by now.
But well... that's just the idea, the truth that I have lots of models to paint and I am very lazy, and probably I will end up doing the list with whatever I have painted the day I'll have to send the list... we shall see...

So much painting seems like it would be double challenge for you !
If you manage to achieve all this i think you'll win men's respect and girl's admiration, I'm pretty sure last year girls in the audience threw me their underwear ;) (or maybe it was just zoro who wears nice hello kitty knickers)

I can't remember any girl last year, but may be it was just me to much focused on my games >_<, anyway I have no doubt zoro wears pink lingerie to throw to us if needed, XD.

I consider playing 6 different casters if ever I come to Lyon and I will be wearing 6 (full) different boxer shorts on each occasion :)

I'm sorry boys but you're out of the challenge and will be called unwealthly baby sturgeons for the tournament, I personally think you are as charismatic as a wet mop. ;)

As I say, playing mercs is already a challenge. In fact, I'm already above all contestants in this Challenge !

6 lists, 6 casters, 125 models, and i'm proud to say that i'll come with all the models in the elves' faction.
Chara restriction applied on all the lists, even Eiryss is in only one version.
No mercenary (no need ^^), but Sylys and Eiryss, who are Ret's partisans.

i'm in.
6 casters, 97 different minis. i use every (painted) mini i have in stock except for warcasters (sorry for the poor warcasters who shall stay home)
character restriction applied on the full week-end. i considered the covenant & the hierophant as a character solo for this purpose, as the protectorate has not much character solos or units (in fact, i only play nicia & vilmon as character solos)
i believe i am almost succeeding in warjack restriction (1 warjack mini should be used only once during the tournament).
i play full protectorate (no mercenaries, no allies)

Glad to sse a mentoh player since i think menoth army is really hurt by character restrictions!
Covenant is really a character solo whereas hierophant is not !
I can only admire your take on managing to apply these restrictions on jacks, that's something i did for 3 50 pts lists but on 6 you're the king !

- 14/18 jacks (i don't have all models)
- 9/14 units (i don't have all models)
- 12/13 solos +2 mercenaries
- no battle engine :'(

I'm still in, but finally with only 77 different models.
That's the price to pay to not finish with a singular gift : a wooden spoon...

I notice that we're losing people here, what's happening boys, only 8 participants, shame on all of you !!
Furthermore only 3 players above the hundred minis, i know i was a sissy with 80 models but i have to admit these 3 warmachine players impress me with their ballsiness even if i'm sure hordes players do their best!

In this last list, here's how it becomes tricky, new models are Vindictus, vigilant, templar, the second unit of choir because it means that schlaf will bring a second unit of these guys that will be on the table with the first one, deliverers, the monolith bearer (but not the unit of zealots which already appeared in list 1, if you have a 6 models unit which becomes a 10 models unit in another list, don't forget to count the 4 new guys) and Vilmon.
So that there is 15 new models which brings the amount of models to 80 models (i hope i didn't make any maths mistakes...)
I hope you'll get the idea ! You can do this on your 6 lists and chaeck taht your total is ok. But remember that you made it, and don't forget to show your pride the 26, 27th !

for me, you have to count every mini painted and effectively played. should i have 3 complete units of zealot, and 3 lists with one unit of zealot each, i could bring all 30 zealots models and have all of them played once in the tournament.
for the purpose of counting, i just made the list of every mini i own (some of them twice : paladin *2 & choir unit *2 & repenter * 2, that's all) and put them in the lists, making sure i don't forget anyone (except those poor casters who don't get their entrance ticket..)

OK i get your point, i made this this way for because at first I didn't think of people bringing 2 harrowers that never appear together in the same game, i assumed you'd only take one model for the week-end even if you have two painted.
Second part, some people asked me by PM few days ago how to count, and for instance pickouette told me he has 30 painted kriel warriors that he will play, but only one unit at the time (one unit in 3 lists as in schalf example with zealots), but that it was really hard for him to transport all these minis and, as a troll player, i can understand him ^^. That's why i told them not to bother with logistic issues and not to bring unnecessary models.
So except if you really think it's a real problem, i'll keep this way of counting, but you can still bring more minis than necessary the D day Portal !

I will do this and maybe modify my total (a bit lower, I'm afraid).

but i understand your goal. ultimate step : one army box for each list, sealed, after the battle repack and re-seal ; so no unit appearing in every list unless you buy/paint them in multiple samples!

Q2 : how do you count models that are generated by an in-game effect, like Alexia's skeletons ?

Alexia can bring 20 risens on the table. If you have 20 painted risens models count them in the army since all of them can appear during the same game. If you have a fewer number of painted risens, just take this number.
For ealexia's thralls (up to 3 per turn but difficult to estimate how many she can create in a game), just count the number of painted models you can bring.
For incubi on kallus's feat, count the max incubi you can bring, the limit is the number of warrior models you have in kallus army, assuming you have enough incubi.
For my part, i took 5 whelps, even if i don't spam them all in a game i counted 5 models.

Ok Ladies and gents, now that all the lists are published, I made some maths and can now bring you the classement of the gentlemen who accepted this challenge.
To begin i'll start with some stats i've made as I read the lists, Zoro is going to post his own later concerning the details of warcasters/warlocks number of appearance.
My personnal thoughts (only engaging myself) are that I'm a bit disappointed by the redundance of waracasters and the similarity between lists, where is the fun the originality ?
I was expecting to see lots of differents lists and units and 19 players out of 34 play the same lists at 35 and 50 points adding just common regular units at higher points value.
I know some have not that many units painted, but i blame the veterans, it's an open with painting chart and quizz counting in the final ranking, why bring the heaviest and well known cheesy set of lists. I would have be happy if people play it cool, since in august is a real master where you can bring imba and op lists...
But anyway, the play like you have half a dozen is a success !
I'd like to gratz the 4 guys who didn't satisfy the requirements but took 6 different casters : Spiff, PeterO, Starpu and Cush !
And the 11 !!! who made it! (i hope my maths are good, I didn't find an easy way to count lol) :

Starpu took 6 different casters, but didn't apply character restriction on both days.
He even use shitty rules adjustments allowed by zoro to play character twice per day lol.
We may call this amendment the Starpu's exception because you're the only one who play all mercenaries (Aod, and Lucifel restrained to dwarf and pirates respectively)
And afterthat you comes to insult us, saying he has 146 models, will they all be painted by you Starpu ^^???

i count 106 "models", or 108 if you count 3 for wracks. but this is accounted from the "collection" functionality of forward kommander, i still have to put everything on the table to be sure.
besides, it is about 172 army points (not counting warcasters). the only duplicates are paladins and repenters, both of them are played in the same army and they are effectively different models.
