Hello! We have a quick change we want to push out to everyone before the end of the CID! Please read everything carefully below about what kind of feedback we're looking for and the scope of these changes.
Reminder, this CID cycle ends Wednesday, the 23rd.
First off, here are the changes:
Piggybacks
Arm 13 changed to Arm 14
Piggyback Officer
Arm 13 changed to Arm 14
Ok, now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's talk about this change.
Yes, this is a change to an existing model, but no, it doesn't mean the field is open for a broad swath of changes, nor are we interested in adding further legacy models to this CID. Let's talk about what we are looking for.
In evaluating the Piggyback Officer, we realized we wanted to lean harder into Retaliatory Strike. It is an ability we find both useful and thematic, and should impact the way both you and your opponent interact with the unit in small but measurable ways. It shouldn't demolish every model that attempts to attack the Piggybacks, but should give you the ability to occasionally kill (and maybe eat!), or damage a model that failed to strike down your Piggy.
With that in mind, we realized that the Piggybacks were potentially just a smidgen too soft to make use of Retaliatory Strike sometimes. To that end, we have opted to increase the Piggyback Officer (and by extension, also the Piggybacks) armor from 13 to 14. This will allow the models to leverage their Shield Wall to greater effect, and incentive your opponent to find meaningful ways to counter play the effect (like Pushes, for example).
Now that I've said that, it is also important to realize that we are not currently fielding feedback on changes to Piggybacks outside the spectrum of this armor increase. We are looking to test this change with relation to Retaliatory Strike, and are willing to revert the change if we find it to be too oppressive. Please do not use this as an opportunity to request further changes to the unit, or the inclusion of other legacy models/units.
Now go forth and let's make this world a piggier place!
